1486- Birth of Arthur Prince of Wales

1491- Birth of King Henry the VIII

1501- Prince Arthur Marries Katherine of Aragon

1502- Prince Arthur dies

1502- The Pope gives permission for Katherine to marry Prince Henry

1509- King Henry VIII marries Katherine of Aragon

1516-
Katherine gives birth to a baby girl; Mary

1517- Luther nails his theses on the door of a Church in Wittenberg; Reformation has begun.

1518- Henry has an affair with Bessie Blount, Bessie has a son and names him, Henry Fitzroy.

1521- Henry is given the title “defender of faith” by Pope Leo X for his attacks against Luther.

1526- Henry falls in love with one of Katherine’s Ladies in waiting, Anne Boleyn.

1529- The Pope rejects the idea of Henry having his marriage annulled.

1533- Henry marries Anne Boleyn and is then excommunicated. Queen Elizabeth I is born.

1534- Henry published the Act of Supremacy, separating England from the Roman Catholic Church

1535- Henry executes any who deny him as head of the Church on England. Henry has an accident and hurts his leg whilst jousting.

1536- Katherine of Aragon died and Anne Boleyn is executed for incest, adultery and treason. King Henry VIII marries Jane Seymour. Henry starts closing the monasteries.

1537-
Jane Seymour dies in childbirth, but Prince Edward VI is born.

1540- Henry marries Anne of Cleeves and the marriage is quickly annulled. Henry then marries Catherine Howard

1542- Catherine was beheaded for adultery

1543- Henry marries Katherine Parr

1547- Henry Dies
